What Is the Black Marijuana Strain?Īlthough its name may seem a bit dramatic, The Black is actually a serious cannabis strain, offering immense medical relief for certain conditions. With origins from Canada’s Vancouver Island however, the phenotype has now spanned across two countries in Northern America, and will likely continue to spread globally. Thus, they didn’t disclose the exact parents that were used to execute the crossbreed.įor this reason, the genetic lineage of The Black marijuana strain is largely unknown - and it will likely stay this way. Bred by Canada’s BC Bud Depot, the growers apparently did not want the world to know where this exquisite marijuana strain had come from. The opposite is true with The Black strain. With many cannabis strains, the origins are sometimes known but the original grower is not. The Black initially captivated consumers with its exotic looks, but once the marijuana strain was actually smoked, it became clear that looks weren’t the only thing the flower had going for it. However, it wasn’t until 2008 that the crop finally gained recognition from High Times, becoming listed as one of the Top 10 Cannabis Strains of the year. Named after its distinctive color and dark appearance, The Black marijuana strain entered the cannabis scene during the 1980s. I just wish my batch was fresher and the effects were just a little more consistent session to session.Few plants on earth match the darkness and intensity of The Black marijuana strain… It’s effects are strong and super long lasting. Pillow Factory is really growing on me, I love how it allows me to be present easily and quiets my anxiety. At times Pillow Factory is definitely one of those “ride it out” type of strain. On other sessions I did get a little paranoid after taking a puff but the feeling would quickly fade away. Other times it’s more of an optimistic, peaceful grounded, meditative-like euphoria. Sometimes it’s more giggly, with an exciting euphoria. I’ve noticed that the headiness of Pillow Factory can vary in intensity session to session. Like many good strains there’s usually side effects.

I’m not sure how to describe it but, Pillow Factory has this restorative feeling to it. It had this way of making me feel like I was taking the time for myself. Pillow Factory really helped me let go of the day and feel present. I really enjoyed the layered effects this strain has, it begins as a nice evening or late afternoon pick me up and (depending on your dose) gently flows into a great nighttime option. This is accompanied with a very peaceful, cozy almost dreamlike state. Bringing on couchlock and a warming body buzz. As the high progresses Pillow Factory gradually gets even more relaxing. This makes Pillow Factory a good option if you like to unwind with a favorite album, reading a book, by creating art, watching documentaries or playing video games. Not in a way that was restless or anxious more so I felt clear headed, relaxed, tuned in, present and happy.

Right away I felt a rush of energy and focus. Given the taste I was not expecting for this strain to hit me like ton of bricks…Despite its average THC percentage, Pillow Factory acted fast and slapped me in the face. On exhale this strain had a very peppery, piney, grass like taste, overall pretty smooth. In terms of medicinal relief I was hoping that Pillow Factory would help me with my depression, inflammation, joint pain and brain fog. My batch tested at 16.7% THC and was harvested last December… So going into this session I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Once broken up there was also a sweet vanilla undertone. Pillow Factory smelled like a blend of oranges, black pepper, and pine needles. In terms of medicinal effects Pillow Factory may help with muscle spasms, chronic pain, and insomnia. Both of which are known to provide an intense high. This strain crosses Blackfire with Mandarin Sunset. This week I’ve got a 50/50 hybrid strain from Ancient Roots called Pillow Factory.
